Inspired by Robert Frost’s poem "Mending Wall," Twin Cities Habitat is offering a new workshop on Thursday, June 5, called Mending Fences: Building Boundaries & Understanding Value. We'll kick summer off with a BBQ to connect with other Habitat homeowners, and you'll be able to participate in two workshops.
The first will cover building and maintaining fences while exploring the deeper meaning of boundaries. The second workshop will dive into the psychology of money, and we'll discuss how financial boundaries can impact our lives. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, join us to learn how setting both physical and financial boundaries can create lasting value and strengthen community.
Date: Thursday, June 5, 2025 Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Location: Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity Office 1954 University Ave W St. Paul, MN 55104

To celebrate National Homeownership Month in June, we invite Habitat homeowners to submit a photo based on a theme related to homeownership. Back by popular demand, this year's theme is DIY! Show us the great work you've been putting into your house over the last year. We'll select three winners, and the grand prize gets a $300 VISA gift card! Stay on the lookout for an official contest invite and reminder in June.
Summer is just about here! It’s a great time to get your home ready to stay cool as the temperatures rise, as well as work on yard projects and other outdoor tasks. Here are some recommendations for summer prep:
Get a professional HVAC tune-up or follow the directions on your user’s manual to add oil and lubricate the fan.
⚠️ Beware of scams! Please be aware that there is an online post circulating that is using the Habitat for Humanity logo and claiming free window or roofing services for seniors 50 years or older. Twin Cities Habitat is not aware of any program like this. Do not click on anything that seems too good to be true. If you are in need of critical home repairs, please contact homeowner@tchabitat.org to see what programs may be available to meet your needs.
Money Minute
Summer is a great season to model the money values you want your kids to carry into adulthood. This may look like having open conversations about how you earn and spend money on family expenses, money challenges and successes you’ve experienced, or how to save for a big goal. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) offers free resources to help adults teach their kids about money.
Discussing how to stretch your money while having fun this summer demonstrates a variety of values to children such as saving, spending, prioritizing, giving, and thrift. The Twin Cities offers many free and engaging activities for families of all ages and stages.
